Political upheavals rock the world of Eloran as magic comes into ascendancy. Vorykas, the god of the void, has reclaimed his identity and returned to the throne of Voran, though with his essence scattered, he is still weak.
The human powers concentrate their power in a fortress city that moves across the land, crushing all before it. The elves, reeling after a coup changes the balance of power, join with the humans to attack the despised and persecuted kaul in order to draw Vorykas’ forces of dragons and monsters out from the impregnable Voran—and prevent him from gathering his fragmented self.
As battles in Eloran escalate, the gods themselves descend from the celestial city of Dengennis to join the war against one of their own, outcast eons ago. One piece of Vorykas remains out of his reach, the first part of him that was sundered when, an age ago, the gods betrayed him.
Vorkyas, with the help of his strongest ally, Latanna, must hold off the forces of gods, elves, and mortals to defend his land and the kaul. But will even the secrets of the void be enough to save them if he can’t find the last fragment of himself?
