Our Story
Pop Weasel started in 2022 with a simple mission: bring the biggest range of manga possible to customers throughout New Zealand. From day one, we were driven by a love of the medium and a belief that Kiwi readers deserved access to the same incredible titles available overseas.
In 2024, we made the tough call to close our physical store at Northlands Mall. But rather than slow down, we doubled down online — growing our Christchurch Comics range and expanding into graphic novels, building a loyal community of readers and collectors along the way.
Then in 2026, we came back bigger and better. We opened a brand new physical store at 9 Penbury Street, Christchurch, this time alongside our partners Thrift Reads — specialists in second-hand books who also support local charities. It's a destination we're incredibly proud of.
What We Offer
We carry NZ's biggest range of comics, sourced direct from US suppliers with weekly shipments — meaning more often than not, we have new issues on the shelf on launch day. Our graphic novel range is massive and still growing, with heaps of the latest releases always in stock. We also carry over 1,000 manga titles ready to ship, plus a curated selection of pre-owned comics for collectors and bargain hunters alike.
