Gorgeous, but lacking in places.

Generally, when it comes to art books, my gold standard is *The Art and Making of CONTROL*, an incredible and detailed book which comes with a ton of developer commentary, artist attribution for all pieces, and gorgeous print quality.

While *The Art of Deathloop* is indeed a gorgeous collection of artworks from the game, there's few concepts and development sketches to show the process, almost no developer commentary, and no attribution for artists of each piece, making it hard or impossible to see who did what and see if their process can be found for these pieces. It's a bit of a shame, especially considering previous books from Arkane like *The Art of Prey* did include some more commentary and notes on processes. If you're just looking to appreciate the art though, this would make an excellent coffee table book and serves up some fantastic visual concepts with excellent print quality and the 3D glasses included for stereoscopic pieces is a fun touch. But if you're looking to get more insight into the processes used to make this game happen, you'll need to look elsewhere.
