He has written for comics, television, film, newspapers, and websites. His work has been collected in 18 short-story collections, and he has edited or co-edited over a dozen anthologies.  Steve Niles is a comic book author and novelist known for works such as 30 Days of Night; Criminal Macabre; Simon Dark; Frankenstein Alive, Alive; Mystery Society; and Batman: Gotham County Line. He is credited among other contemporary writers with bringing horror comics back to prominence.
